IG Mutyambai goes after his deputy after Citizen TV expose



;Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has called for investigations against his deputy Edward Kinuthia.
This action came after an expose by Citizen TV where DIG Kinuthia and Makadara MP George Aladwa were implicated in damning allegations of corruption.
Any member of the public, including Citizen TV, with documentary evidence on the misconduct, was asked to submit information to the authorities.
The statement by Mutyambai read: “Towards this end, any member of the public, including Citizen TV, with documentary evidence on the said matter are invited to submit information to the Director Internal Affairs Unit; National Police Service."

According to IG Mutyambai, the decision was reached after a meeting with Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and DPP Noordin Haji.
A statement by Interior spokesperson Wangui Muchiri said IG Mutyambai is expected to submit a status report within 14 days.
