Woman's Facebook Love Affair With Cop Ends in Death

Tairus Mwangi and Purity Karwirwa

A 26-year-old prison warder has been arrested by the police in Kiambu County in connection to a murder that happened on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, in Ruaka.

Tairus Mwangi is alleged to have killed his girlfriend Karwirwa in Ruaka. The two love birds have been dating for over a year and a half, nurturing a relationship that began on Facebook.

The deceased’s brother, Erick Kimathi, told K24 Digital on Saturday, February 29 that their relationship had been riddled with unending disputes and claims of unfaithfulness.

"Their relationship was full of physical abuse, with the suspect often being the aggressor,” stated Kimathi.

Tairus works as a prison warder at Malindi GK Prison in Kilifi County and had visited her for a few days.

He added that Karwirwa, who stays at her friend’s place in Donholm, Nairobi was always quarrelling on phone with her lover.

Kimathi revealed that his sister, who earned a living from online writing, would often visit her lover at his Malindi work station on several occasions. This time, Mwangi had travelled in Nairobi on Tuesday, February 25, and asked Karwirwa if they could meet to iron out their differences.

Karwirwa accepted the request and the two went to his sister’s place in Ruaka, where they quarrelled again on Wednesday, February 26.

It was then that Mwangi allegedly reached for a hammer and hit Karwirwa in the head, nose, and back, killing her on the spot.

Mwangi's sister reported the incident to the police after she arrived at her house that evening and found Karwirwa’s body lying in a pool of blood on the floor.

CCTV footage shows Mwangi leaving his sister’s house later on Wednesday after having a change of clothes.
The DCI detectives tracked him down and arrested him on Thursday, February 27 in Kahawa West. He will be arraigned in court Monday, March 2, 2020.

Karwirwa’s body was laid to rest on Saturday, February 29, at Mwanika Village in Central Imenti in Meru County.

Ruto Arrives at Kenei's Burial [VIDEO]

Deputy President William Ruto speaking at the Full Gospel Gatunduri Church in Embu on February 23, 2020.

Deputy President William Ruto arrived at the burial of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei in Nakuru County after cutting short his trip in Kiambu County on Saturday, March 7. Ruto was received by Water CS Simon Chelugui, who is a cousin to the deceased.

Kenei's body was ferried to Nakuru on Friday, March 6, ahead of his burial on Saturday, March 7 in Chamasis home in Solai ward, Nakuru County.

DP Ruto held a closed-door meeting with elders and Kenei's close relatives ahead of his send-off, which was conducted by his fellow police officers.

"In our family we have no past history of suicides and not a single family member has ever committed suicide and the late Kenei cannot be the first one. It is time we end unnecessary drama and detectives get  important phone numbers of suspects who were communicating with Kenei before he was killed," Chelugui stated on Friday, March 6, at Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru.

Ruto, on Saturday, March 7, while at Maria Immaculata Church, Kiamumbi in Kiambu County, had informed the audience that he would be joining his officer's family in his final send-off.
"I am grateful for being here. However, accept my apologies, I won't stay long. I am rushing to the burial of one of my officers who passed away. I will come back at a later date to pray with you," Ruto stated.

The DP was accompanied by MPs Nixon Korir (Lang'ata), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira) and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.

At Kiambu, the DP donated Ksh1.5 million towards the construction of a multi-purpose hall, to be used by children in the area. Gachagua, Korir and Kihika all donated Ksh 50,000 each. The DP also promised to buy a bus for the church.

"I will send government officials to follow up on the construction of the hall. I have listened to your lamentations and I will take my time to plan and come back with a school bus for the children," he promised.

Ruto on Friday, March 6,  spoke, a few hours after his office, through Chief of Staff, Ken Osinde, issued a statement challenging details of the CCTV footage that was aired by Kinoti.

The DP stated that he had observed criminal cover-up in the murder case of Sergeant Kenei, who was attached to his office. He argued that the culprits were roaming free as Kenyans were being fed with half-baked truth.
"The truth must be found on why, how, and who killed Sergeant Kenei. The family, my office and Kenyans want the truth and justice and culprits held to account.

"The drama, distortions, convenient half-truths and the smear campaigns in sponsored headlines amount to criminal cover-up," Ruto lamented while pushing DCI Kinoti to speed up the investigations.

Kenei's widow, Judy Chepsoi, on Friday, March 6, mourned his husband as Kenei's father lamented over his son's death.

"What will I tell our children when they grow up? Who will help me raise them? It's hard for me to believe he is dead. But I leave it to God," Chepsoi wondered.
"I have a strong conviction that my son's blood will forever haunt those who killed him. I urge all officers to do their duties without fear. We expect transparency in the investigations without any form of cover-up for the sake of any other officer who may be working in such a risky environment," John Chesang, Kenei's father added.

Kenei's Widow Mourns Husband With One Wish

An emotional Judy Chepsoi, the widow of the late Sergeant John Kipyegon Kenei, broke down in tears after viewing the body of her husband for the first time since he passed away.

On Friday, March 6, at Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru County, Chepsoi was joined by other family members as they received the body, which will be buried on Saturday, March 7.

A report by the Daily Nation, on Saturday, March 7, detailed that the widow lamented that her life had been shred apart and she would struggle to raise her five-year-old child.

"What will I tell our children when they grow up? Who will help me raise them?

"It's hard for me to believe he is dead. But I leave it to God," Chepsoi wondered.
Chepsoi was escorted from her husband's coffin as the agony of losing a breadwinner swept her away.

Kenei's father, John Chesang, spoke to the media, asking DCI George Kinoti to speed up investigations and urged him to release the deleted data recovered from his son's phone.

"We are finally at ease after the DCI revealed that my son was murdered. However, what we want to know are the contents of the data that was recovered from his phone. Let that be made public just like the CCTV footage from Deputy President William Ruto's office, which was aired," Chesang urged.

"I have a strong conviction that my son's blood will forever haunt those who killed him. He didn't commit any offence and his murder will not go unpunished. I urge all officers to do their duties without fear. We expect transparency in the investigations without any form of cover-up for the sake of any other officer who may be working in such a risky environment," Chesang added as quoted by the Standard.

The body will be laid to rest even as the government continues to unravel the mystery surrounding his death after it emerged that his killers made every effort to cover their tracks.

Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei, who worked at Deputy President William Ruto's Harambee House Annex office, was found dead on Thursday, February 20, 2020.

Shock in Migori as woman gives birth on floor unattended

Pregnant woman [Photo: Shutterstock]
The county government is investigating an incident where a woman gave birth on the floor at a dispensary unattended.
County Health Executive Iscar Oluoch said her officers were investigating the incident that occurred at Suna West Sub-County Hospital in Ragana on Tuesday night.
She, however, said those who took the woman to the sub-county hospital should have rushed her to another facility after failing to find nurses on duty.
No nurses
Linet Otieno from Ragana village was rushed to the sub-county hospital at 3 am but failed to get any nurse on duty.
Millicent Ouma and Emily Atieno who took her to the hospital were forced to attend to her on the ward floor.
“Since the dispensary began operations, we have never seen such an incident. It was only through God’s grace that there were no complications and both mother and child are alive,” said Ms Ouma.
Gershon Okello, the community representative at Ragana Dispensary, said the case will scare off expectant women.
According to the Ministry of Health data, Migori is one of 15 counties that account for over 60 per cent of maternal deaths in Kenya.
The latest estimate shows 673 deaths per 100,000 live births.
Birth complications
African Institute for Development Policy (Afidep), in a statement on their website, states that “birth-related complications are reduced when women give birth in a health facility”.
The organisation said in Migori County, “just over half (53 per cent) of births are delivered in a health facility compared to the national rate of 61 per cent”.
“Assistance by a skilled provider during delivery, obstetric care from a health professional during delivery is critical in reducing maternal and neonatal mortality,” Afidep says.

KQ lifts suspension of whistle-blower Gire Ali

Gire Ali

Suspended Kenya Airways (KQ) employee Gire Ali is set to resume duty today after the national carrier cancelled his suspension.

This was revealed in court on Thursday as the Police also confirmed to Justice Weldon Korir that he will not be prosecuted.

He had been suspended for filming a China Southern Airlines plane with 239 passengers that had landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) amid a coronavirus epidemic in the Asian country.

The High Court had stopped security authorities from arresting or prosecuting the JKIA security officer.

This comes a day after Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia told Members of Parliament that Mr Ali is a criminal who should be locked up for breach of security at the airport.

“He was not a whistle blower but a person who breached national security…JKIA is a security installation and no one is allowed to film it secretly,” he told legislators.
His response infuriated MPs who accused the CS of double standards and pleaded with him to implore the national airline to have mercy on Mr Ali, who they insisted is a national hero for exposing the arrival of the flight.

The CS refused to delve into the circumstances under which the plane was allowed to land in Kenya, instead, telling the committee that focus should be on enhancing measures towards ensuring proper controls and surveillance of the novel coronavirus.

Kipyegon Kenei was drugged, then killed – Detectives

Kipyegon Kenei was drugged, then killed - Detectives

The late Kipyegon Kenei, a police officer who was head of security at Deputy President William Ruto’s Harambee Annex office was murdered, detectives revealed.
Investigators  say that the officer was drugged before he was shot through the chin. The lone bullet exited from the top of his head, killing him instantly.
Also puzzling the officers is the missing data from his phone which was wiped clean days before he was found dead at his house.
A suicide note that was found near his body did not bear the officers handwriting, leaving detectives confused as to motive of its existence.
One of the officers privy to the investigations said that the crime scene had been tampered with and had been made to look like suicide.
The officer’s gun was lying close to his lifeless body.
The officer was in charge on the day ex-sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid visited Ruto’s office long before it emerged that he was smack in the middle of a Ksh.39billion military equipment scam.
The late Kenei will be ferried to his Chamasis village home for burial this Saturday.
The decision  was made after his family and friends met at a hotel in Nakuru on Tuesday evening.
They unanimously agreed to have his body buried over the weekend.

The circumstances of his death have delayed burial arrangements since an officer who commits suicide is not given a 21 gun salute.

“Coronavirus is a curse from God to Single mothers” Rev Githu reveals prophecy

Kenya’s youngest Reverend now says the new pneumonia-like illness called the 2019-nCoV, or Wuhan Coronavirus is God’s direct curse to single mothers all over the world.

“The disease is a result of moral issue and a punishment for disobeying the creator’s command, marriage and submissiveness ,” The 10 year old Reverend remembers.

“There is always a supreme being whom we can seek for His help (Revelation 12:13-17). God will hear and forgive single mothers who will swallow their pride and repent for violating marriage rules. It is not right to deny your children an earthly god in the name of a father figure just to prove a point. The wrath of the Lord will not spare those who will not repent.”

The Scriptures reveal that, whether the Wuhan Coronavirus fizzles out or not, the gains against disease that mankind has made in recent generations will soon be lost. The pale horseman is not finished riding. But each person could have some say as to whether he or she will be in his path or not.

The illness is named after the central Chinese city of Wuhan where it originated and after the halo- or corona-like shape of the microorganism.

Experts say Wuhan is milder than other illnesses in the coronavirus family, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (sars) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (mers). But it is still deadly dangerous: As of Thursday morning, the official number of dead as a result of the virus stood at 170. And authorities expect the numbers of infected and dead to continue to mushroom.

George Kinoti Reveals DP Ruto Bodyduard’s Last Moments

kinoti

Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti has revealed new information regarding the death of Deputy President William Ruto’s guard Kipyegon Kenei.
Kinoti gave a full account of what happened during Kenei’s last moments at the Harambee House Annex. He noted that Ruto’s guard was murdered in his house at Imara Daima estate but the killers tampered with the scene to make it appear like a suicide case.
Post mortem results showed that Kenei died a day or two before his body was found and the cause of death was a gunshot to the head. Kinoti also revealed that he was found without shoes and in his pyjamas but found his bed being neat.
The DCI director noted that the murder was planned for a long time as the guard was to record a statement on the Ksh 39B fake arms deal. He added that footage released by Harambee Annex staff was edited to conceal Kenei’s role in the deal.

It was also revealed that former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa spent one hour and 22 minutes with his guests at Harambee House Annex.
This is contrary to what the Deputy President claimed a couple of weeks ago. He said in a tweet that the former Sports CS was with the guests for 23 minutes.
ODP does NOT procure for any ministry/department. Question:other than 23min in Annex, for months, which government offices involved in the ‘tender’ did the scammers visit? Did they access DOD? Who facilitated? Who did they meet? Get the truth.Forget the sponsored NONSENSE in media
