Relief For Jacque Maribe After Today's Court Ruling

Tuesday started on a good note for Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe, after the State granted her access to her home.

Prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki stated that her phones were exhibits in the ongoing suit and will be released once they are produced in court.
No Car Yet
However, Mwaniki noted that Ms Maribe will not be getting her vehicle as of yet since the government chemist was not done with the report.
On Monday, Maribe had filed a contempt of court application over the State's alleged failure to comply with orders.

She claimed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions had remained silent despite persistent efforts to seek an explanation.
Ms Maribe, who is facing murder charges, filed a contempt of court application, arguing that had not been allowed access to her house.
The journalist claimed she had to beg for clothes and accommodation as her house remained secured as a crime scene.
Borrowing a Phone
According to Maribe's lawyers, the Citizen TV journalist was going without medication and had to borrow a mobile phone.

Maribe’s mobile phone and car were confiscated as part of investigations into the murder of Monica Kimani.
Investigators claimed that Maribe's co-accused and fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie used the car.
