A reveller succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning after he got into a fight with a nightclub bouncer at Black Bamboo Lounge in Eldoret on Saturday.
The reveller, Abraham Kibet, got into an argument with the bouncer, who pushed him down a stair flight.
Kibet's wife and a friend, who were also at the same club, rushed him to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital hospital after he sustained head injuries.
The hospital CEO, Wilson Aruasa, stated that Kibet was admitted to the hospital at 3:20 am and was taken to the theatre.
"He was wheeled to the theatre where a brain surgery was conducted before he was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Sunday morning, unfortunately, we lost him on Thursday at around 11 am," the CEO stated.
At the same time, the nightclub bouncer has been arrested and is being held at the Eldoret Central Police Station.
He was arraigned at the Eldoret Law Courts on Monday but police sought more time to conclude the investigation.
The club's manager, Jonathan Munyaka admitted that the incident occurred adding that they were working closely with the police.
“It is true that the incident happened at our club and we are working with the authorities to unravel the truth. The victim is a common reveller at our club and we have nothing to hide,” Munyaka told Daily Nation.
Kibet is survived by his wife and a child.
