Police are investigating an incident in which body parts of a human were found dumped on the roadside in Landhies Road, Nairobi.
The body parts of a female had been chopped off and wrapped in a polythene paper. Police say they found head, both legs and hands in the paper but the torso is missing.
The team that attended the scene said they were called and informed of the presence of the paper this morning before they went to pick it.
The victim has not been identified and indications are that she was killed elsewhere and the parts dumped at the scene. The body parts were taken to the mortuary as investigations go on.
Else where residents of Magumu in Kinangop Nyandarua County are in shock after a local farmer drowned in one of the rivers following heavy rains currently pounding the area.
The middle aged man was on his way home when he was washed away by the raging waters while crossing a bridge on Sunday evening.
According to a local leader James Kamau, the area had gone for months without rains with all rivers drying up.
He said that heavy rains in the nearby Aberdare forest saw the rivers flood adding that the deceased was not aware that the water in the seasonal river had risen sharply before crossing.
“He left the area trading center after watching a football match accompanied by a colleague but he was the first to cross the river only to be swept away,” he said.
Njabini Deputy OCPD Charles Rotich confirmed the incident adding that the body was recovered on Monday morning 10kms from the scene.
“We have managed to recover the body and taken it to Naivasha mortuary and this is outright a case of drowning following the ongoing rains,” he said.
