Weeks after apologizing to a customer for selling her worms in a portion of chips, fast food restaurant Chicken Inn is on the spot yet again.
This is after a video of a customer alleging to have found a roasted cockroach in their chicken was shared by social media influencer Xtian Dela.
“Avoid Chicken Inn like a plague! When I started talking about Chicken Inn they said I was being paid to hate on them.
“They threatened me to delete my posts or sue me for defamation. From rotten chicken, to worms in fries and now roasted cockroaches,” posted Xtian.
In the video, the seemingly frustrated customer narrated how he ended up finding the roasted roach in a piece of chicken.
According to the customer, he purchased the chicken at Chicken Inn’s branch along Lang’ata Road just opposite Carnivore.
“I am very frustrated and scared.
“We bought a couple of pieces of chicken and fries yester night and we had some this morning. As you can see we had eaten quite a number of pieces only to land on this!
“A cockroach inside your chicken! How does a cockroach get inside chicken? And it’s roasted! I was just about to bite it,” he said.
“I have been seeing these things trending a lot and I thought that someone was out to tarnish your brand, but this happened to me and my friends. Do something before it’s too late.”
Worms in fries
Three weeks ago, Chicken Inn issued an apology to a customer after she found dark spots in the potato chips, with the lady claiming that they were worms.
“They sold me rotten chicken wings on two separate occasions. The Westlands Oil Libya branch, opposite Sankara. To make matters worse, I had bought like 10 boxes, for my friends. This particular case doesn't shock me,” the video, also shared by social media influencer Xtian Dela was captioned.
The restaurant issued an apology, promising to get to the root of the matter.
