The 27-year-old contracted HIV/AIDS in the most unexpected yet sad way and to date, he wonders how his life changed so fast.
In an interview with Switch TV, the young man narrated how his former boss dragged him down and left him with a long lasting mark.
According to Kemboi, when he was a 22-years old, he badly wanted to return to school and his older boss decided to give him a ticket to academic freedom.
"She said if I slept with her she would educate me. I was very desperate so I gave in," Kemboi said.
The chap who worked as a gardener was asked to be his boss's Ben 10 in exchange for cleared school fees.
A desperate Kemboi agreed and jumped to the offer quickly. That was when the young student slept with his employer.
"I think she knew she was positive and it is like she infected me intentionally," the man narrated.
According to him, the single mother was well aware she had the disease but still chose to slither her way into Kemboi's life and destroy it by sleeping with him without protection.
One day the chap decided to just get tested after passing by a VCT centre and the results left him in utter shock and complete disbelief.
"I got tested two years after I slept with her. I was confused when I got the results. I did four tests and they still came back positive," Kemboi said.
Looking back, he discovered the person behind his positive result was his former boss.
For the longest time, the man was in denial and put off taking medication for about three years.
However, at some point, Kemboi knew without the necessary medicine, his life would be in danger and from then on, he has learnt to love himself and embrace his flaws.
