Kenya’s Television Network (KTN) has made new hiring months after it lost primetime anchors to its rivals.
In the latest move, the Mombasa Road-based station set its eyes on a Chinese media house, China Radio International, making away with Ahmed Bahajj.
Through a post on his social media, the anchor announced that he was set to join the media house's sports desk.
He further revealed that he joined the station’s Zilizala Viwanjani show where he was set to work alongside the revered Hassan Juma.
“Mwaka mpya mambo mapya ,,kwa furaha na bashasha ,shabiki wangu wa nguvu naomba ujumuike nami kwa mara ya kwanza kipindi cha Zilizala Viwanjani saa kumi na moja jioni ya leo siku ya jumanne..Njoo huku uburudike, (New year new things, in joy and warmth, my strong fan I pray to you to join me for the first time on Zilizala Viwanjani at 5pm evening of Tuesday. Come and get entertained),” posted the journalist.

The journalist had earlier announced his departure from China state-owned media house who he thanked for growing his career.
“Kwaheri Radio China Kimataifa!!! umenifunza mengi kwaheri shabiki wangu umenifurahisha kwa mengi!!!!safari inaendelea, (Goodbye Radio China International!!! You have taught me a lot, goodbye my fan, you have made me happy a lot!!!! The journey continues,)” wrote Bahajj.
Bahajj moves to fill the void left by Abuller Ahmed who ditched the station to be a swahili anchor at Switch TV in November 2018.
Ahmed had joined KTN after being ranked among the top three contestants for “The Presenter season 2”.
He thanked his fans and colleagues for working closely and supporting him during his three-year tenure at Standard Group.
