Alikiba’s father dies

The father of celebrated Tanzanian musician, Alikiba, is dead, his son Abdu Kiba has confirmed.

Mzee Saleh Kiba died early Thursday at the Muhimbili Hospital in Dar es Salaam, where he was receiving treatment.

Mzee Kiba’s body has been preserved at the hospital’s mortuary.

He will be buried at 4pm on Thursday, January 17 at his family home in Kariakoo.

Mzee Kiba was in and out of hospital over age-related ailments.

He is survived by two sons – Ali Kiba and Abdul Kiba – and a daughter, Zabibu Kiba.
