Kenyans have again pulled resources to support a dancer who featured onChurchill Showaftershe gave a touching and teary story.
The young lady, Moesha Kay,who supports over 2000 girls caught the attention of PresidentUhuru Kenyatta’s nieceNana Gecagawho pledged Kshs 100,000. Entrepreneur Huddah Monroe, who was also in attendance, pledged to contribute Kshs 200,000 while news anchorBetty Kyallopromised Kshs 100,000. Churchill on stage with Moesha Kay and some of the girls she supports Huddah Monroe and Betty Kyallo at the Churchill ShowBelasi Developers pledged Kshs 100,000 and Space Lounge committed Kshs 100,000.Samuel Osorofrom Unilever contributed Kshs 50,000 personally and put his boss to task to commit Kshs 110,000. The food company, Indomie, pledged Kshs 100,000 and free meals for all the kids that Moesha supports for one month. A Maasai herdsman promised to award her with a goat for Christmas while the rest of the audience contributed petty cash. Total cash collected came to over Sh100, 000 as the pledges stood at Sh910, 000 leaving the girls in tears on stage. The group of girls had just come from representing Kenya at the 2018 Hip-hop World Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona. Her initiative, Divas Power, was birthed using inspiration from her past life, being born and raised in theghetto of Majengoin Nairobi. She was chased from her home at 13 years because of her passion to dance and almost got raped three times. Watch the video below.
