Members of St. Peter’s ACK Ruganga parish in Embu North Sub-County are reeling from shock after thugs broke into the church and stole Bibles, foodstuff and electronics worth thousands of shillings.
The unknown number of burglars, who raided the church Monday night, also destroyed a section of a house used by priests.
Besides the mentioned items, the thieves also escaped with utensils and priests’ robes.
Some of the electronics, which they made away with, include: two microphones, a sound amplifier, and two public address speakers.
Reverend Joseph Kiragu Kangondu says he learnt about the incident Tuesday morning, when he arrived at the church compound.
Nembure Sub-Location Assistant Chief Joseph, Nyaga Njiru, confirmed the incident.
Njiru has advised the church to employ a security guard to avert such occurrences in the future.
