Six suspected thugs were on Sunday night shot dead by police as they attempted to raid a factory in Makongeni estate, Thika.
According to a tweet on Monday morning by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the six were among a group of 20 robbers found robbing Sunveat Industries in Thika West.
“The same thieves had earlier on attempted to invade Prime Value Company where they assaulted one security guard,” wrote the DCI.
“The officers were forced to use firearms after the thugs started attacking them with crude weapons.”
The DCI further stated that they are still on the hunt for the rest of the robbers, some of whom are said to have escaped with injuries.
