Nairobi Hospital Suspends Plastic Surgeon Stanley Khainga After He Accused The Facility Of Negligence

The Nairobi Hospital has blocked surgeon Prof Stanley Khainga from practicing at the facility.
Khainga has accused the hospital of neglecting June Wanza, a woman who died in June shortly after having a breast enlargement operation. She sought help at the Nairobi Hospital where she lost her life.
Ms Wanza developed sepsis, an infection that takes effect when the body’s immune system releases chemicals into the bloodstream to fight an infection. Her operation had been performed at Khainga’s Surgeoderm Clinic in Kilimani.
In a memo, the Nairobi Hospital suspended his “admitting rights effective October 8 until further notice.”
“Therefore wards and theatres have been directed not to admit or book patients under Khainga, security office told to deactivate the parking card, and his vehicle’s number plate identification while ICT department has been instructed to deactivate ‘Kranium’ report access,” the memo reads in part.
Speaking to the Star, the surgeon said that he was not aware of the facility’s actions saying: “They have their own issues.”
