Details have emerged of Joseph Irungu’s business dealings and a powerful network of high ranking Jubilee officials.
In the run up to 2017 elections, Jubilee officials extensively procured the services of Irungu who also doubled as a Private Security and who enjoys a high profile network within Jubilee.
Among those who enlisted his services is former Taita Taveta Women Representative Joyce Lay procured his services as a bodyguard.
The role and level of involvement of Irungu the Jubilee Party during the elections is however not clear.
The suspects disclosed that he own a private security firm specializing in close protection, VIP protection, executive protection and “special projects.” with offices in UK and the United Arab Emirates.

The Standard reported that detectives handling the murder of Monica Nyawira are struggling to make a breakthrough after a team of powerful state officials stormed Kilimani Police Station where Irungu was first held demanding his release.
It has since emerged that Irungu enrolled for a Certificate in Food and Bevarages at Technical University of Kenya (TUK) but dropped out in 2012 due to lack of school fees.
However, it is his engagement to Citizen TV’s Jacque Maribe and his flamboyant life and the source of his wealth that attracted the eyes of the public as news of Nyawira’s murder swept across the nation.

In Buruburu where he lives, The Standard reported that he has been presenting himself as a top security man with neighbours declining to talk on the issue out of fear.
The murder has so far seen Maribe questioned by the police on two occasions even as the family of the slain beauty awaits justice.
