Bus Bursts into Flames In Gilgil

A bus burst into flames in Gilgil along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway in the wee hours of Friday morning.
The bus, belonging to Greenline Services, is reported to have caught fire at 3 am with all the passengers who were on board managing to escape unhurt.
Gilgil Sub-County Police Commander Emmanuel Opuru confirmed the Friday morning incident and suggested that a mechanical problem was the probable cause of the fire.
Evacuation of the passengers from the bus was swift as police quickly rushed to the scene.
One of the passengers, Edna Nafula, recalled that the vehicle initially had a puncture before it caught on fire which burned their luggage.
The driver parked the bus by the roadside to change the tyre but there was smoke from the engine and in minutes, a fire erupted completely burning our luggage
