A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier is reported to have committed suicide outside the house of a man suspected to have been having an affair with his wife in Baringo County.
The body of Chepkwony Kimosop, who went missing on Tuesday evening, was found hanging above the veranda of Charles Kachekere’s house in Kapkiamo village.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, the deceased’s brother, Aaron Yegon, claimed he was embroiled in a domestic disagreement with his wife since learning that she was allegedly in a secret relationship with Mr. Kachekere.
Mr. Yegon further alleged that the behaviour of his brother’s wife drove him to frustrations and could eventually have pushed him to ending his life.
Relatives of the late KDF officer were unable to control their emotions as police arrived on scene and took away Mr. Kimosop’s body.
They further threatened to lynch Mr. Kachekere, a retired KDF officer who currently owns matatus plying the Kabartonjo- Kabarnet route.
Mr. Kachekere, alongside the deceased’s wife, were later taken into custody to record statements and aid police in investigations.
