Tanzanian socialite Wema Sepetu was sentenced to 7 days in jail for failing to appear before the court earlier. She was supposed to be arraigned in court due to some photos that she had posted on her social platforms. You see, in Tanzania, it is lawfully wrong to post intimate photos or videos and people can actually get arrested, unlike other countries.
On this particular post, she posted herself and a man who she addressed as her future husband. They were kissing and according to the law, she had committed a crime.
She was supposed to appear before the court for a hearing by Kisutu Resident Magistrate Maira Kasonde who ordered her to be detained as punishment.
The lady even shed tears after she realized that she was going to spend a week in prison. The man featured in that particular post has however spoken up. He is encouraging Wema Sepetu telling her that it is not the end of the world. That she would get through this.
