Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday evening broke his silence regarding an attack on his daughter, Saumu Mbuvi, and Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip on June 2 at Kasarani, Nairobi.
Speaking during his live broadcast on Facebook, he warned state operatives, whom he claimed are out to get him through any means.
"I want to tell the system that you cannot plot evil against people every day," Sonko warned
He stated that a certain police officer led the attackers to his daughter before the senator stepped in to save her and ended up being injured as a result.
"So that you know this case is by the system, the Senator is in fighting for is life in the ICU but the person who was arrested was released on a Ksh 20,000 cash bail," Sonko claimed.
"The games the system is trying to play on me...I am not a fool my friend," he added.
The Governor also alleged that a day before Madaraka Day, five armed goons jumped over the fence of his Upper Hill residence and were captured on surveillance cameras.
His bodyguards shot in the air to disperse them but one was unable to escape and was arrested.
Sonko stated that upon questioning, the suspect admitted that he was just executing an order that had been sent to them.
The suspect is still in police custody and investigations are underway.
