The wife of a popular Tanzanian preacher has defended her husband from allegations that he is the man captured on camera ‘chewing’ a mpango wa kando.
Grace Gwajima, the wife of Josephat Gwajima - the founder and archbishop of Ufufuo na Uzima church – told the press that she trusts her husband.
Grace stated that she knows the truth and that God is on their side.
"Mimi ni jasiri kama Simba. Ukweli naufahamu. Mume wangu ninamfahamu na ninamwamini. Mungu akiwa upande wetu hakuna wa kutushinda," said Grace.
According to the preacher, the people behind the video are his political detractors who are targeting to stifle his 2020 political ambitions.
Gwajima claimed that his image was imposed on the man’s face and reiterated that he is a married man and a preacher of great repute.
"Ni mwanaume gani ambaye mwenye akili zake timamu anayeweza kujirekodi wakati akifanya tendo la ndoa? Haingii akilini,
"Zile ni picha za kuunganisha. Wametumia picha yangu moja ya kifamilia nikiwa kifua wazi na kuunganisha na picha nyengine ili wanichafue” Said Josephat Gwajima.
The outspoken cleric noted that the hand holding the camera in the explicit video that hit the web on Tuesday, May 7, had was larger than his.
"Mkono wa huyo mtu anayejichukua ile video ni mkubwa, ni mkono wa 'baunsa' sio huu mkono wangu mdogo."
