MT KENYA region does not owe WILLIAM RUTO anything - RAILA ODINGA says adding he is ready to protect Kikuyus in 2022

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga has said Mt Kenya region has no political debt to pay in 2022 as claimed by allies of Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking at his Opodo farm in Siaya county on Saturday when he met a  delegation  of members of Kikuyu community from Nakuru county , Raila said the political deal between Ruto and  and President Uhuru Kenyatta prior to 2013 General Election was personal and not binding on all communities and should therefore be rejected in its entirety.

According to Raila Odinga the future of Kenyans was too precious to be decided by two people through a mere pierce of paper or memorandum of understanding between communities' kingpins.

"We were not part of agreement when they said they signed pact. We were not part of deal either. Uhuru has not said he wants to continue after his term ends. I haven’t said I will vie for presidency. Decision of succession cannot be anchored on two people’s agreement which majority Kenyans were not party to," he said.

He also bashed politicians, who threatening members of Kikuyu community living in Rift Valley with consequencies should the refuse to support Ruto’s bid in 2022.

The former Premier said no leader should threaten anyone for refusing to support a candidate of his choice.

He said Kenya is a free country and every Kenyan has a right of supporting a candidate of his choice.
