Facebook posts by a constable of the Administration Police has left many Kenyans worried for his life after he kept talking about his death.
Constable Apollo Koiria had taken to social media since May 3, claiming his life was in danger.
The officer stated that he had been involved in the crackdown against the outlawed Mungiki gang in the area and after the operation, he requested for a transfer which was declined.
Being in the front line of the operation made him a walking bull’s eye for the gang’s leadership that went underground but had started re-emerging.
Koiria went ahead to explain how he was also being frustrated by his bosses whom he claimed had gone to the extent of withholding his salary despite being on duty.
“I have survived nine months without a salary yet I'm still in the service,” the officer wrote.
Despite growing up in Kangema, Murang’a County, the officer was still deployed to his home area during the Anti-Mungiki operations.
He decried that he was later accused by his superiors of being sympathetic to the sect members.
“Having grown up in the area I was marked by some elements as being sympathetic to the sect. I was later transferred to the very area that led to simultaneous attacks between the year 2013-2016. While recuperating, my salary was unlawfully stopped but later reinstated and arrears paid with subsequent attachment at Jogoo House Legal Office. Only to be ordered back to Muranga,” Koiria continued.
The officer on Tuesday morning posted another disturbing message asking his family members not to bury him in Murang’a.
He stated that in the event of his death, they should just transport his remains to the Lang’ata cemetery and instead of buying wreath flowers they should use the money to feed his young family.
Koiria states that he is the father of two young children with one still breastfeeding.
