Songs and dance awaited Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa when he arrived in her constituency on the morning of Saturday, March 2.
The troubled legislator who flew down to the coast region a day after she was kicked out of ODM party for disloyalty and disrespecting party leadership was given a warm reception by legion of her supporters.
In their heroic chants, the constituents called for reinstatement of the expelled Aisha claiming the lawmaker was a victim of political witch hunt hatched by her perceived enemies.
On her part, Aisha said she has no regrets and remains focused on service delivery to her people.
"I thank God for everything and my promise to everyone is that I will devote my duties as the Member of Parliament in Malindi until 2022,"she said.
We have no room for incessant sideshows that are of no interest to the people of Malindi.
After months of bitter relationship with the Orange party, the National Governing Council unanimously approved her expulsion.
Aisha and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori were in record for supporting Deputy President William Ruto's presidential ambition against the party's constitution.
Suleiman, however, apologised for his action and his case was deferred for a later hearing within 60 days.
"Party NGC unanimously votes to expel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the party. The meeting, however, deferred the decision to expel her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori following his letter in which he apologised to the party for his rebellion," the party stated.
