Gory images of emaciated Kenyans who are on the brink of death because of starvation have compelled some celebrities to spring into action to help.
Media report indicate that at least 10 people have died of starvation in Baringo and Turkana counties, the national government however denies anyone has died because of hunger.
Several TV stations have been showing how residents in northern Kenya have been forced to feed on wild fruits to quell the pangs of hunger.
Akothee has taken matters into her own hands to help starving Kenyans in the north, the singer is marshalling her fans to contribute towards buying food for Turkana residents.
So far Akothee has managed to raise Kes 1,000,000 in 24 hours. Her team will be leaving for Turkana this Friday to take the food stuff to starving residents.
