Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and former MP Kabando Wa Kabando have backed claims that Jubilee party nominations of 2017 were marred with rigging.
The two politicians suffered brutal losses during the primaries and have continued to assert that the party nominations were "a sham".
The former Jubilee vice chairperson revealed that high ranking individuals within the party deliberately scuttled the process in parts of the country to ensure their preferred candidates go the nomination.
"It started with the Jubilee party nomination. The first day they started creating some commotion in parts of the country and we made a decision to recall it. So the first day nominations flopped.
"When we repeated the second nominations, all hell broke loose because some interested parties rigged out highly popular people, in some of our own areas in Mt Kenya and Rift Valley and planted the people they wanted," Murathe said during the Citizen TV interview.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Peter Kenneth had accused the DP of rigging them out as well.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been one of DP Ruto's strongest defender against the claims.
He almost engaged in a fist-fight with Murathe during a live TV interview where they discussed the rigging claims.
