Former President Kibaki’s Ugandan ‘Son’ To Visit Othaya Soon

If you are an active user of the internet and social media platforms for that matter, you must have come across a photo of a man who has a striking resemblance to Kenya’s former President Mwai Kibaki.

As expected, Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) had a lot to say about it but we will tackle that later.

Our research revealed that the man whose picture has been all over Twitter for the past few days is 63-year-old Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II, the reigning Kabaka (also known as king) of the Kingdom of Buganda, a constitutional kingdom in modern-day Uganda.

He is the son of Edward Frederick William David Walugembe Mutebi Luwangula Muteesa II, Kabaka of Buganda, who reigned between 1939 and 1969.

His mother was Nabakyala Sarah Nalule, Omuzaana Kabejja, of the Nkima clan.

For the past few days, Mutebi’s photos have been trending and some questioned whether he is related to Kibaki.

There were hilarious reactions to his photos and below we sample a few:
“Most probably born during father's education in Makerere. Akuje tumpeleke Othaya.”

“See what idleness can do to you. You post a picture of Kibaki and guys are busy talking about non sense, this is Kibaki HIMUSELEFU.”

“Othaya here we come.”

“No help needed... Certified true copy of the original.”

“Why is he coming this late when the father is retired?”

“Eh! Si anafanana na Kibaki, wueh!”

“His father was once a president of one of the East African country.”
