The woman says the man defiled their daughter, a Class Seven pupil at a Migori school, on September 5, 2018.

According to the woman, she caught her husband defiling their daughter on their matrimonial bed.
She says she later learnt that the suspect had lured the girl, who is now 6 months pregnant, with Ksh100 note.
According to her, her polygamous husband, who has 5 other wives, abandoned her and the girl after she [wife] confronted him.
The woman claims her push to have the suspect arrested was frustrated – and that only recently was when her estranged husband was arrested and reportedly arraigned following pressure from activist groups.
The woman claims the man’s five other wives have been assisting him to evade facing the law.
Sophie Odumo, a human rights activist working for East African Centre for Human Rights, faulted the police for “taking too long to arrest the suspect”.
It remains unclear whether the suspect has been arraigned, though Ms Odumo claims he was taken to Rongo Magistrate Court on Friday, February 8.
He is, however, yet to take plea, per Ms Odumo.
Attempts by EDAILY to establish – from the court clerk – whether the suspect was arraigned last Friday bore no fruits.
