ODM leader Raila Odinga turned 74 on Monday January 7, 2019 and his big day was celebrated by among others President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former premier’s wife, Ida Odinga.
Other leaders, who joined Mr Odinga for the birthday celebration in Mombasa include area Governor Hassan Joho, his Nairobi counterpart Mike Sonko, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, EALA MP Oburu Odinga, Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, President Kenyatta’s personal assistant Jomo Gecaga, among others.
The birthday bash, held at a private residence in Mombasa, marks the first-of-a-kind celebration, which brings together all the mentioned leaders.
The party followed a statement by President Kenyatta earlier Monday, when he commissioned the Mama Ngina Drive regeneration project.
“I know some of you are celebrating their birthdays today, and I still have two or three more days for holiday,” said President Kenyatta.
