Two pastors and two sisters were arrested in Naivasha trying to raise a dead baby.
The residents of Karati village were treated to drama when the mother of the infant who had passed away and the preachers started to exhume the body.
The woman removed the body of her deceased daughter out of the coffin and started praying with the clergy for her resurrection.
She believed that her baby did not die and was mistakenly buried.
The distraught mother wondered why the villagers were staring instead of praying with her.
One of the villagers alerted the local chief Samuel Ng’ang’a who arrived with police officers, apprehended the woman, her sister and the two religious leaders.
“The woman is yet to come to terms with the loss of her daughter and some men who claim to be religious leaders have taken advantage of the situation,” he stated.
A resident, Peter Kimani, termed the act as bizarre as he had never heard of anybody who had been brought back to life.
“These are some of the churches that are misleading followers that they can even raise someone who has died and this is totally wrong,” he commented.
He added that the woman was suffering from depression and needed counselling for her to accept the situation.
