Prominent people who passed away in the Dusit attack

On Tuesday 15th January, Kenya received a major blow from al Shabaab once again after the Westgate attack that happened in 2013.
The attack, which happened at Dusit hotel, Riverside drive claimed the lives of 14, while seven more others succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at various city hospitals.
Some of those who died were popular and below is a list of those whose lives were cut short by the terrorists in the Dusit attack.
  1. Jame Oduor aka Odu Cobra
He was a PR practitioner, football player, and enthusiast. Odu Cobra died on the eve of his birthday. He was a friend to many including BBC’s Larry Madowo.

 MY FRIEND FROM UNIVERSITY WAS KILLED ON THE EVE OF HIS BIRTHDAY. THIS WAS HIS LAST TWEET. HE WAS ONE OF THE NICEST, HAPPIEST PEOPLE I’VE EVER MET. REST WELL, ODU, NIND MABER. THE WORLD IS BETTER BECAUSE YOU LIVED.

The two siblings were having lunch at Dusit hotel when the terrorists struck. They worked for Adam Smith International (ASI).

Abdalla was 33, while Feisal was 31 years old. Their heartbroken families eulogized them as loving, humble and friendly brothers.
3. Bernadette Konjalo
Her last post was on January 14, where she posted a photo showing off her transformation from the last 10 years to now and tagged it under the #10yearschallenge.

4. Luke Potter
The Briton who had just moved to Nairobi from Britain and worked for the charity Gatsby Africa as their Africa programmes director.

5. Jason Spindler
The American tech CEO, who survived 11 September World Trade Centre terror attack in New York in 2001 was among the victims of the Dusit attack.

He was working in Kenya on a mini-power grid project tailored for remote areas. His brother shared the sad news on Facebook, and his post read;

IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT I HAVE TO REPORT THAT MY BROTHER JASON SPINDLER PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING DURING A TERROR ATTACK IN NAIROBI, KENYA. JASON WAS A SURVIVOR OF 9/11 AND A FIGHTER. I AM SURE HE GAVE THEM HELL!
