Two Administration Police (AP) officers have dragged themselves into trouble after they allegedly used government vehicle to transport illicit alcohol.
Harison Kwambai and Meshack Musembi were nabbed alongside their client Tabitha Ngera at Mayoni area on Sunday, January 13.
In a report by Citizen Tv, the three were arrested after members of the public reported the vehicle was carrying suspicious goods.
Confirming the incident, Mumias police boss Peter Kattam said the liquor is believed to have been sneaked into the country from Uganda through Busia border and was being transported to Kakamega town.
The alcohol was packed in sachets and was estimated to be worth KSh 2000,000.
The three were detained at Mumias Police Station as law enforcers continue to investigate further.
The incident came barely 20 days after four officers were arrested in Nairobi's Tassia estate after they robbed off KSh 291,000 from an armed civilian.
