Yvonne Okwara fires back after being shamed for questioning Sonko

Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara-Matole

Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara-Matole on Monday engaged one of her followers who took issue with her question to Governor Mike Sonko.

Yvonne had wanted to know what measures the county government had put in place to ensure persons living with disabilities are not overstretched by the matatu CBD ban.
"What arrangements have you made for persons with disability with this matatu CBD ban on this International Day of Persons with Disability?" she posed.
One of her followers who seemed to have no concern for PWDs, adminished the anchor telling her that the ban would be beneficial.

"Yvonne, please don't resist change, encourage CS for transport and Railways MD to increase trips on routes with high population such as jogoo road, thika road and Mombasa road," George Ngaira replied.

Yvonne replied: "Asking what arrangements have been made for persons with disability is NOT resisting," and shortly thereafter went on a rant over the exchange.
Blogger Robert Alai joined in the conversation with a question: "What about the media houses you work in? Any plans to highlight and promote issues of the PWDs? Their buildings are disability friendly?"
The tweets attracted overwhelming remarks that were split between those who agreed with Yvonne and those who were convinced she had overreacted.
Here are some of the comments that were shared.
