..A man has landed himself on the wrong side of the law after he clobbered his estranged wife for demanding he uses a condom.Winfrida Kinanga wants Douglas Momanyi held accountable for beating her on the 18th of this month in Nairobi’s Industrial area estate.
Police who investigated the assault told a Nairobi court that the love birds, who have been experiencing difficulties in their relationship, parted ways before meeting on the said date and attempted to have what they called “make-up sex”.
“Winfrida visited the accused around 4pm in his house at Industrial area Nairobi. The pair shared a meal before agreeing to spend the night together,” reads court papers.
But after some time in bed, they agreed to have sex, with the woman demanding he uses protection since they had been away from one another.
This is said to have irked the accused, but he obliged to search his house for condoms as Winfrida further demanded they visit a VCT Centre the following morning for a joint STI testing and counselling.
“The accused searched for the protective gears all over his house including under the bed and when he could find none he accused Winfrida of hiding some condoms that he had placed under the pillow so as to deny him sex,” reads police papers.
A frustrated Momanyi, police say, then pounced on Winfrida with blows and kicks, lamenting that his efforts to cook for and treat his lover well had gone to waste.
The complainant reported to police that she almost lost her front teeth, thanks to the beatingand sustained back and lip injuries that gave her difficulties in eating and talking.
Momanyi, however, denied the police charge, terming them falsified, He is out on a Sh30,000 cash bail. The matter will be heard on the February 19, 2019.
