Gospel star Rose Muhando hospitalised

Rose Muhando, one of Tanzania’s foremost gospel musicians, has been hospitalised, her spokesperson, Daud Mashimo, says.

Mr Mashimo has revealed that the “Nibebe” hit-maker is admitted at a Kenyan hospital after her “health condition deteriorated”.

Speaking to Tanzania’s Global Publishers,the artiste’s representative said Ms Muhando wishes the Tanzanian Government can help her secure repatriation back to the country, where she can “get full medical attention and care by her kinsmen”.

“She needs to be closely monitored and taken care of by her relatives, who are in Tanzania. We all know that she only went to Kenya for work-related engagements; Tanzania is where she belongs. And, honestly speaking, the [Tanzanian] Government needs to help her secure a return to the country. She has asked me to appeal to the State on her behalf. Up to now, she is still hospitalised in Kenya,” said Mr Mashimo.

“Rose Muhando has also requested Tanzanians to pray for her during this hard time. She hopes to fully recover and bounce back bigger and bolder in the music industry,” added the musician’s rep.

Reports surfaced online seven days ago claiming that the musician had been rushed to a Nairobi hospital while in critical condition.

It is alleged Rose Muhando’s stay in Kenya is being financed by gospel musician from Ukambani region whose name is Stephen Kasolo.

In a past interview with EDAILY, Mr Kasolo said Ms Muhando’s children had traveled to Kenya and took her away from his custody. That happened after a video showing the Tanzanian gospel bigwig receiving divine intervention at Pastor Ng’ang’a’s church in Nairobi went viral.

EDAILY’s efforts to reach Rose Muhando, whose cell phone line remains disconnected, have proved futile, with Mr Kasolo not picking up our calls despite earlier agreeing to an interview.

Ms Muhando’s recent woes touched many of his fans online, with a section of the Internet users requesting for transparent channels to be established in which they can send their financial contributions toward restoration of the musician’s well-being.

Rose Muhando has – in the recent and far past – been accused of abusing hard drugs including heroin and cocaine, claims, which she vehemently denied.

Her critics argue that the alleged drug abuse is responsible for her health tribulations.

No medical report, however, has ever linked Ms Muhando to drug and substance abuse.
