Matiang'i disbands firearms licensing board, all licensed guns to be returned

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i on Friday disbanded the Firearms Licensing and Control Board, saying it was in need of restructuring.

He added that his ministry was in the process of withdrawing all licensed guns with the aim of issuing new ones once a new board has been set up.
"I have disbanded the Firearms Licensing and Control Board with the aim of reconstituting a new one. We are in the process of reverting all Firearms in the view of security and safety," Matiang'i said while addressing an  CS Interior orientation meeting for new  board members of the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA).
