EXCLUSIVE: Details of Trevor Ombija's New Role at Citizen TV After Quitting NTV



Journalist Trevor Ombija left Nation Media-owned TV station NTV for Citizen TV.

Sources who spoke to Pulselive.co.ke confirmed that Monday was the last working day for the Senior news anchor as would be taking up new duties at Citizen TV.
New Role
Our sources revealed that the journalist will be taking over "Day Break", a morning show aired on Citizen TV as well as a spot on Friday night news.
However, when Pulselive.co.ke reached out to Mr Ombija he declined to comment on the matter.

"Every beginning has an end and every end has a beginning," a caption from his Instagram account read in part.
Ombija will replace Joey Muthengi who resigned after she was called for disciplinary action for allegedly engaging with a rival company.
Muthengi was being accused of doing business with gaming company Betin yet Royal Media services have a similar venture, Shabiki which as an employee of the company she should have been promoting.
Ombija could also take over Citizen TV's Friday night bulleting since the show's host Jacque Maribe was charged over the murder of Monica Kimani and given tough conditions for her bail.
Replacing Friday night team
Maribe was blocked from reading any news or conducting any interviews that touch on the murder of Monica Kimani murder case and also ordered not to present news during the period of the trial.

The Friday night slot was also left hanging after journalist and TV presenter Waihiga Mwaura won the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award. As part of the prize, he will spend three months at the BBC in London and travel back to report on a story anywhere in Africa.
Trevor, who graduated from the University of Nairobi, worked for CCTV Africa and Nation FM before joining NTV news team in 2014.
