Death toll rises to 49 in Kericho bus accident

The number of people known to have died from the Wednesday morning bus accident in Kericho has risen to 49, according to police.
The death toll rose from the initial 42 that was reported immediately after the grisly accident that occurred on the Kisumu-Muhoroni highway at Fort Tenan area in Kericho.
Fort Tenan Police Station OCS Charles Ocharo says the bus was heading to kisumu from Nairobi when it veered off a fly over, rolling several times.
The cause of the accident is still unclear, even as rescue efforts continue.
