Slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno will be buried on October 19 in Homa Bay Town.
According to the funeral committee chairman Elijah Opiyo, burials expenses will cost over Ksh.1million.
On October 18, the cortege is expected to leave the mortuary at Kirindo Hospital in Mbita.
The funeral will then be held the following day at the grandfather’s home in Magare Village, Kanyabala location.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Opiyo noted that the burial committee has held several meetings to ensure that she is given a decent sendoff.
He added that they are expecting a high number of visitors following the gruesome murder of Sharon Otieno.
“We have not hit the target to cater for the burial expenses and we are appealing to well-wishers to assist us,” Opiyo said.
The seven-month old foetus that was also killed in the gruesome murder was buried three weeks ago.
Migori Governor and his co-accused Michael Oyamo are still in police custody as investigations continue.
