
It has now emerged that the two had previously been deported in 2015.
Detectives say they are surprised about how the Chadian citizens, Mr Abdullah Tamba and his son Abdoullaye Tamba found their way back into the country after being deported.The two were arrested on Monday alongside a Kenyan identified as Anthony Mwangangi at Sandalwood Apartments, Brookside Lane in Westlands.
The detectives led by Flying Squad head Musa Yego raided a house in Westlands area on Monday evening where they recovered the huge sum of fake money that was in foreign currency.
During the raid, police recovered a wooden machine for making papers to be disguised as authentic currency notes.
Previous arrest
In 2015, Tamba and his son Abdoullaye, together with Mr Suleiman Musa, Mr Mahmat Tamba and Mr Yahya Kangweri, were arrested allegedly with $1.5 million (Sh153 million) in counterfeit notes.
After the arrest the two foreigners told the police that they come from Mali.
The three suspects have since been detained for 15 days to allow for comprehensive investigations.
