Kenya National Police Service and organisers of Standard Chartered Marathon have announced closure of four major roads in Nairobi City centre, starting from midnight on Sunday.
Motorists seeking to access or leave Nairobi City centre have been advised to use alternative routes

Mombasa Road users will as from Sunday midnight to 4:00 a.m use Lusaka Road roundabout via Madaraka roundabout, then proceed to Mbagathi Way to enter the city through Valley Road.
City Centre to the Westlands and towards Kileleshwa; vehicles should use Globe Cinema Roundabout, Kipande and Ojijo Rds.
City Centre to Muthaiga, Kiambu and Thika; vehicles should use Globe Cinema Roundabout, Muranga Rd and Limuru Road.
The marathon will also affect the areas surrounding South C and Lang'ata since all vehicles will be diverted at Haile Selassie Roundabout toward the Railways Roundabout then to Landhies Road when leaving the city through Lusaka Road.
From 4:00 am to 1:00 pm, the following roads shall be affected with drivers being asked to use these diversions.
Traffic from the City Centre to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport, Machakos and those heading to Mombasa shall be channeled through Landhies Rd, Jogoo Rd to join Outer Ring Rd.
The users leaving town for Karen via Westlands will be required to use the diversion from Globe Cinema Roundabout, join Kipande and later drive through Ojijo Rds, Waiyaki Way and later to James Gichuru Rd.
To access Karen from Lang'ata, the motorists will use Landhies Rd, Enterprise Rd and proceed to the Southern by-pass so as to access Langata Rd.
