A woman charged with stabbing her husband and injuring him has been released.
The court heard that Jackline Mauti Nyanduko stabbed her husband Paul Owino Odundo in the head and neck for allegedly coming home late.
Nyanduko was however set free after her husband forgave her.
Police said the incident took place on September 12 at Nairobi’s Tononoka area.
The court heard that Odundo, a boda boda operator, arrived home at 4am to a fuming Nyanduko.
She is alleged to have snatched his gate keys, prompting an argument between them.
Nyanduko demanded to know why her husband had formed the habit of coming home in the dead of the night and disturbing her sleep.
She also took issue with the fact that her husband was always away, leaving her to spend long hours alone during the day and at night.
Police said that in the ensuing argument, the suspect picked a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband.
He sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital. He later reported the matter to police and obtained a P3 form.
But later Odundo decided to withdraw the case saying: “I’ve decided to forgive her because we have lived for long as husband and wife. It’s also the will of God.”
