Details of a businessman, Yasir Mohammed, have now emerged, the man who was set to marry Monica Nyawira Kimani before her brutal muerder.
According to Monica’s father Bishop Paul Kimani Ngarama, Mohammed held a senior position in a firm in South Sudan.
Monica’s Brother, George Kimani added that Yasir was a regular visitor to Kenya and had even visited their home in Thika to introduce himself to the family.
“Yasir is a fun-loving but reversed gentleman who has even been to our Thika Home, where he had introduced himself” said Kimani.
The brother divulged that Yasir travelled a lot across the East Africa border owing to his position in South Sudan.

Reports also indicate that Monica’s wedding plans were underway and she had already picked the theme, venue for their big day and was supposed to travel to Dubai to link up with her fiancée for the celebration of her 29th Birthday.

On Thursday, brother to the late Monica revealed that the main suspect in the murder Joe Irungu alias Joe Jowie, wanted an affair with his sister.
George mentioned that his sister (Monica) was reluctant to start a relationship with Irungu because she was already committed to Yasir.
Social media affair
He added that Monica was not very familiar with Irungu as their communication was mostly on Facebook and Instagram.

The family said that the two began communicating on social media before they finally met recently at Westlands, Nairobi.
“The two were mutual friends and mostly communicated on Facebook and through Instagram. There was nothing intimate; Irungu admired my sister but she did not take him seriously as she had a boyfriend,” said George Kimani.
