A few news sources claim the Supreme Court in China is set to rule on an appeal by the state to allow mass executions of the people already infected with the deadly coronavirus. Breakingnews.co.ke has confirmed that this is a lie.
The false rumors were first published On Feb. 5, 2020 on the website AB-TC (aka City News). The article claimed Chinese officials were seeking approval from the Supreme People’s Court to start the mass killing of 20,000 people infected with the new coronavirus in an attempt to contain the disease
The website has also previously spread misinformation about the spread of Corona Virus in Singapore in an article titled, “BREAKING NEWS: Singapore records six more coronavirus case, total of 16 now”. The government of Singapore released a statement on Jan. 30, 2020, to refute claims published on that AB-TC report
Statistics have shown at least 20 health workers contact the virus on a daily basis when attending to the victims.
The death toll out of the menace has gone beyond 500 people with different countries already cutting relations with the industrious nation as a measure to prevent further spreading of the virus.
On the week of the outbreak, the United Nations’ World Health Organisation said it would need to marshal close to 1 billion dollars to wholly deal with coronavirus.
Other countries are decrying China for a great deal of negligence in dealing with the catastrophe issuing travel advisories to their citizens discouraging them from touring China.
A number of airlines the world over have suspended their routine flights to the country until the menace is solved.
Wuhan is believed to be the epicenter of the disease.
