Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has threatened to sue rapper King Kaka for defamation after releasing a new single, Wajinga Nyinyi, that sees her being linked to the NYS scandal.
The governor issued a letter to the rapper through Kiragu Wathuta and Company Advocates dated 15th December 2019 stating that the claims made by the rapper are false and reckless. The letter goes on to state that the lyrics suggest that she is not fit to be governor and that she was elected as a result of taking advantage of the gullibility of the people of Kirinyaga County.
King Kaka mentions the Kirinyaga Governor in his latest song that calls out the state of affairs in the country. Anne, however, has never been charged in a court of law and was acquitted of all charges by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The governor’s advocates recommend that the rapper should apologize for making such claims, take down the song from all social media platforms and make a commitment not to release any other defamatory songs.
