Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was back at it again after he revealed that he would consider opening a church.
Kuria during an interview on NTV, stated that the religion sector would be his next stop if he stepped away from politics.
The controversial politician explained that political positions meant nothing to him.
He asserted that he would step down as the MP of the area if the residents felt he was no longer serving them in the right way.
The vocal leader pointed out that he would not wait for the 2022 general elections to fulfil the vow.
“I was elected by the people of Gatundu. I keep asking them and I will go ask them that when you get tired of me I will resign.
“I will go. Political positions mean nothing to me,” remarked the lawmaker.
No spokesperson for Mt. Kenya
The legislator added, “I can go back to the private sector happily. Naeza kuwa rai mwema ama nifungue kanisa(I can be a law-abiding citizen or open a church.”
The Jubilee party member sentiments came after it was claimed that Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was being groomed to be the spokesperson of the Mt Kenya region.
Kuria rubbished the allegations and reiterated that the region had no spokesperson.
The central officeholder uttered that every leader in the region had the right to air their views.
“There is no position called the spokesperson of Mt. Kenya. People should know that because that is what is bringing trouble to some of us.
“If it was an elective seat we could vie for it,” uttered the leader.
Kuria stifled by the political elite
He was however puzzled at why Waiguru was given the free will to share her views yet he was being stifled by elite political forces.
An advertisement in the Standard Newspaper proclaimed that the Kirinyaga governor declared that President Uhuru Kenyatta had been too intolerant with the likes of Kuria and Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri.
According to Governor Waiguru, the two were underestimating the efforts of the president in regards to the BBI report.
The remarks did not go down well with Kuria who pointed out that the county boss was inciting Uhuru.
The Member of Parliament highlighted that the governor’s opinions were similar to the time during the KANU era, where the Retired President Daniel Moi was merciless.
Kuria in addition, insinuated that those comments put his life in danger.
