Fresh details on Monica Kimani's brutal murder emerged after four witnesses including a gardener, caretaker, a delivery official and Jacque Maribe’s friend testified in a Nairobi court.
The four were testifying for the prosecution in the case against journalist Jacque Maribe and Joseph Irungu also known as Jowie on Wednesday, November 27.
Court heard the slain businesswoman lived with a man in her Lamuria apartment where she was discovered dead shortly after jetting into the country from South Sudan.
According to the four, the 24-year-old Kimani lived with a man only identified as Yaseen who visited the apartment later in 2019 to collect his belongings.
Justice James Wakiaga heard that despite being seemingly close to the Kimani, the said Yaseen was not present during her burial.

The gardener identified as Regan Buluku said he made his way into Kimani's apartment through the balcony and was the first person to see her body.
Buluku said the body was in the bathtub with the tap running and remembered seeing candles around the bathtub.
Delivery executive, Dennis Wanjala, said he was sent to collect an item from the slain business woman when she landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on that fateful day.
Maribe’s friend, Chelang’at Ruto, confirmed being with the journalist alongside Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on the night of the murder.
According to the journalist's friend, they only parted ways at 4am when Irungu picked up Maribe from an entertainment joint they had visited.
This comes a day after Government Chemist Joseph Kimani said DNA of an unidentified man was found on the white traps that were used to tie Monica.
Among items that were submitted for examination are a knife, adhesive tape, an empty beer can, empty beer bottles, charred clothes, wine glass, open shoes and blood stained towel.
The DNA on the straps and that collected from the beer can belonged to an unidentified male while Kimani's DNA was not linked to any samples collected from Maribe's car.
Kimani was found dead in a bathtub and her hands tied with white straps in her Kilimani house on September 19, 2018.
