Report on the gruesome murder of Administration Police officer and a taxi driver in Ruaka, Kiambu have taken a new twist after what has emerged is more sinister.
It has been revealed that the officers who assassinated AP Constable Daniel Etiang knew him and were his friends. It is claimed that there was no shootout as reported earlier and the slain officer’s firearm was only removed from his waist after he had been killed.
An anonymous witness said that one of the officers fired several rounds in the air using ’s gun, a Jericho pistol Serial No. KE AP 43368733 to justify the shooting.
He said: “The officer who lay injured was finally shot by a woman believed to be a police officer and was dressed in civilian.”
A team of detectives who went back to the crime scene on Sunday and yesterday has however dismissed reports of attempts to interfere with the CCTV where the shooting happened.
According to a brief to the police headquarters, Kiambaa officers under the command of the Sub County Criminal Investigation Officer (SCCIO) proceeded to Ruaka Courtyard Complex claiming they had received information on a premeditated attack on two Nigerian nationals.
The local DCI argued that they went to the residence where they found the “robbers taking position within the compound.” He added that they challenged the suspects who defied orders which led to a shoot out eventually killing them.
The deceased officer, described by his colleagues as a decorated officer and a sharpshooter, had been attached to former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and was currently attached to the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority’s chief executive.
The late Etyang was my Assistant for 4 yrs, thereafter worked with the MD KEMSA. I can swear he was not a robber that’s BS, cold blooded murder. The killers should face the full force of the law.
