The High Court in Nairobi on Tuesday, October 29 barred President Uhuru Kenyatta from executing budget cuts in the Judiciary until a case filed by the Law Society of Kenya is heard and determined.
This comes bare hours after Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna, while on air at Radio Maisha revealed that the Judiciary was not the only arm of government experiencing a cash crunch.
“The government has slashed the budget in every sector by 50 per cent, it is not only the Judiciary. The economy is not doing as was projected,” Oguna stated.
He further revealed that agriculture, which employs a majority of Kenyans, had suffered the effects of drought, thus negatively affecting the economy.
