‘I co-own the Kitisuru Villa with Cohen,’ Sarah Wairimu says from jail

Sarah Wairimu

As an autopsy is planned on the body of Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen at the Chiromo Mortuary to establish the cause of death, his widow – who is the prime suspect in his murder – Sarah Wairimu Cohen is fighting to be released.

A court ordered the exercise be conducted today after the prime suspect’s lawyer Philip Murgor asked it to be moved from yesterday because of commitments.

Wairimu has hired a pathologist to also participate in the exercise. The team also intends to visit the water tank where the body was discovered on Friday.

Meanwhile, Wairimu has denied claims in the media that the murdered Dutch tycoon willed his Ksh400m estate to his only sister Gabrielle Van Straten.

Through her lawyer Murgor, Wairimu said she was shocked to see media reports that the villa in Kitusuru has been willed to Gabrielle.

MURGOR ASKED THE COURT TO RELEASE HER ON BAIL SO SHE COULD GO BACK HOME TO FIGHT FOR HER PROPERTY RIGHTS THAT “WERE BEING ABUSED BY PEOPLE”.
Wairimu says that 50% of that estate is hers and securing her freedom will allow her to fight for her stake in the property.

Wairimu was incarcerated on August 28, 2019, and she will remain in custody till September 26 when there will be a mention of the case.

She will also be expected to take a plea.
