Wambui Kamiru Collymore has expressed gratitude for the support she has received since her husband’s demise.
This was her first public statement after Collymore’s death on Monday this week.
“I am overwhelmed by all the love and beautiful messages I have been receiving from you all here,” Wambui said on Wednesday.
“It is a true statement of the special man I was lucky to love,” she added.
Collymore married Wambui in 2016 in a private ceremony.
She is an artist, actress and owner of Art Space Kenya, an art gallery.
61-year-old Collymore succumbed to cancer at his home in the wee hours of July 1, 2019 at his Nairobi home.
He had been battling with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) for almost two years.
He was cremated at the Kariokor Crematorium on Tuesday and a memorial service is underway at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
Safaricom also announced that all shops will be closed countrywide for four hours on Thursday in honour of their departed CEO.
