There are many hazards traffic police officers face when on the road and dealing with uncooperative drivers is one of them.
Some scenarios can get out of hand and even result in a physical altercation as was the situation in a viral video that circulated online for the better part of Thursday.
In the clip, the officer had pulled over a vehicle and was in the passenger seat of the vehicle when the fight broke out.
The incident which occurred near Nairobi Montessori Preparatory School along Ngong Road attracted onlookers who tried to resolve the situation.
In the clip, the driver is seen trying to push the officer out of the car.
As the officer and the driver tussle in the vehicle, witnesses open the door of the car and manage to pull the officer out.
Once out of the car, the driver tries to speed off as the officer gives chase for a while.
Unable to keep up, the officer stops and the driver zooms off on the road as the door slams shut.
Speaking on the incident, Nairobi traffic police commander Joshua Omukata, conveyed that a manhunt had been launched for the driver.
The driver is said to have caused an accident in Karen and traffic officers radioed ahead to their colleagues to be on the lookout and that is when the officer stopped him.
